To my fellow Bay Area folks, are there any Altered Books (or similarly themed) classes out there? Thanks!

Re: AB Classes in Bay Area
Sun, February 26, 2006 - 10:50 AMHi Denise,
The Nova Studio in Richmond has a class. Here's the link --> www.thenovastudio.com/descrip...ooks.htm
Also, you might try the San Francisco Center for the Book. They have all kinds of cool classes relating to book arts. The link is --> www.sfcb.org/ . And until you find a class you can attend, may I humbly steer you towards my web site --> karenswhimsy.com/altered-books and my blog --> artful-journey.com . I've written a lot about my experiences creating altered books. Maybe you'll find something useful! Happy altering!

Re: Bay Area
Sat, March 31, 2007 - 2:36 PMCheck out a South Bay paper arts studio in Willow Glen called A Work of Heart. www.aworkofheart.com
The space isn't truly limited to paper arts, but that is the focus. I call this my artistic home away from home, as the owner, Andrea, is a laid back and amazing lady. She ALWAYS teaches me something and loves to play with media, techniques and tools. If you don't have a tool, but would love to try it before buying it, this studio is for you! You can arrange for the space for an intimate gathering of friends or come on an open "crop" night (lots of scrapbookers use her studio) to do whatever. Check out her site for more details.
I really love this place.
