Heads for Magazine Dolls
Wed, February 1, 2006 - 3:09 PMHello!
I haven't made them since I was a little girl, but WAAAAY back then, the heads were styrofoam balls, and you used a paring knife to cut a small conical section from the bottom. You then put some Elmer's glue in it, and stuck it onto the pointed top of the doll's body made from the reader's digest.
Also, back then, Reader's Digest was about twice as thick as they are today, so you may want to glue two of them together, so your doll will have the proper "fullness."
Hope this helps!

i remember making betsey mc call doll's from mc call's magazine...cutting out the dolls, gluing them to the cardboard that came in my mom' s packages of nylons, then cutting out the clothes,. such fun.
