At the library bookstore last week I found one of a multi-volume set from 1904 with those old pictures. It was only after I tore out half the pages, that I realized the top edge was gilt. Okay, I think it's funny rather than a disaster, I could always buy another volume if I was set on it, but now I'm wondering what that top edge may look like with intermixed pages. At least I saved all those cool animal pictures!
